What is Hadinet Africa?
Hadinet Africa is building ethical digital infrastructure for continental coordination. At its core is zkIdentity — a privacy-preserving identity verification platform that lets you prove who you are without revealing your personal details.
You verify your identity once through a trusted provider (like Smile ID or Plaid). zkIdentity then creates a cryptographic proof that confirms your verification, without storing any of your personal information. That proof lives on the blockchain, where you control it.
The Problem
Africa lacks a cohesive identity system within individual countries, let alone across borders. Hundreds of millions of people have no formal way to prove who they are. Previous attempts at "decentralized" identity created invasive centralized tools that required biometric data just to access basic services.
These systems share a common flaw: they collect and store personal data in databases controlled by someone else. When those databases are breached — and they always are — people have no recourse.
The Solution
Hadinet takes a fundamentally different approach:
- Verify once — Complete identity verification through an established KYC provider
- Prove without revealing — A zero-knowledge proof confirms you're verified without exposing any personal data
- You own it — Your proof lives on-chain, tied to your wallet. No one can revoke, modify, or access it without your consent
- Use anywhere — Any service that accepts zkIdentity proofs can verify you instantly, across borders
